Action respects your privacy. We treat the data you submit with due care and process it in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  1. Which data do we process, and why?

1.1 Registration

When you apply for a vacancies, we request you to register on our website. During the registration process, we collect your login details, including your first and last name, email address and a password. Based on your email address and last name, we check whether you already have an account. Your email address will be used for the distribution of your login details by means of a registration confirmation or submit a temporarily password, in case you forget your own password. After entering the temporarily password, your access is activated and you will be prompted to create a new password.

By registering, you create an account in which your application details and CV will be saved. If you apply for another vacancy later, this data will be re-used. You will also find an overview of the vacancies you have applied for in your account.

1.2 Application

If you apply for a specific vacancy, we will ask you to provide the necessary information for the application process, such as first name, last name, date of birth (optional), country, email address and telephone number. We may ask for a motivation letter and a CV, so that we know your motives and your background (qualifications and/or employment history). A motivation letter is not required for applying for store positions.

We may also receive your application details when you apply to one of our vacancies on a job board. We recommend that you consult the privacy statement of the job board website.

In addition, we may store the information obtained from our referees, while your application for a position in one of our stores may prompt us to check the FAD (Fraude Aanpak Detailhandel) Foundation’s Warning Register.

We ask a number of additional questions in case of application for specific positions, so that we can gain a suitable impression of your experience, wishes and availability. We also offer you the opportunity to upload other documents (e.g. an internship assessment).

We need the aforementioned information to follow up on your application and to be able to assess whether you are a suitable candidate for the job. You are under no obligation to provide your data. If you decide not to provide us with this information, however, we will not be able to process your application.

1.3 Cubiks Online

We request applicants for certain positions to complete an assessment via ‘Cubiks Online’, to determine whether you are the appropriate candidate for the job. The results of this assessment may be used for your personal development plan if Action opts to employ you.

1.4 Use of the website

On our website, Action uses a number of different web-based technologies including cookies.  Cookies are small files that are saved on the device you use to browse the website, whether it is a computer, mobile telephone or tablet.  Action uses several different types of cookies.   1. Who do we share your personal data with?

Action may involve third parties, with a view to their assisting us in recruiting new colleagues. These third parties sometimes need access to (parts of) your data. We ensure that such third parties treat your data with due care and comply with all the rules applicable. We do not pass on your information to third parties for commercial purposes.

  1. Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. As this Privacy  Statement applies solely to our website, we recommend that you consult the privacy statement and/or cookie statement of the websites referred to above.

  1. How long do we keep your data?

The personal data you provide to Action will be retained by Action for a period of four weeks following completion of the application process. If you grant us permission to do so, we will retain your details for one year, so that we can contact you in the future for another vacancy. On expiry of this period, your data will be deleted. Once you have been given the job and enter the service of Action, your details will become part of your personnel file.

Action may decide to anonymise part of your personal data and use it for analysis and research purposes. Your personal data will then be anonymised.

  1. Security of your data

Action takes the greatest possible care when handling your personal data. We have taken various technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss or unlawful use. For instance, our systems and applications are secured in accordance with the applicable standards for information security. This also applies to third parties engaged by us.
