(Fulltime 38 hrs/week)
In the role as Communications Specialist you develop, plan and execute the organization’s internal and external communication activities, all focused on building and enhancing Action’s reputation.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
You will proactively contribute to the strengthening of the communication both internally and externally to support Action’s values and proposition. You will advise, on request or at own initiative, (senior) management, other departments and the Action stores on communications issues. The communication department is growing, which means there is always room to improve or redesign the communication processes. You are challenged to create communication plans and activities in line with the overall communication strategy. And more than important in this role is to ensure and oversee the execution of the plans, and to ensure the realisation of the objectives. You will manage external agencies and other (international) suppliers. You will respond to media inquiries, but also initiate media attention, develop press statements, press events, prepare interviews and Q&A’s and guide Action representatives in media interviews. You will also support and advise colleagues with regards to communication. And write content for internal and external tools e.g. speeches, newsletters, websites, magazines.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST AT ACTION
You are a customer oriented individual who continuously strives for the best results. You are able to work well independently, as well as in a team, and you have the ability to make the best of your leadership and people management skills.
- A Bachelor’s or University Degree in Communications, Journalism or another relevant area (e.g. Economics, Business)
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant international working experience in a broad communication position within a similar working environment
- Excellent comprehension of the English language, both oral and written
- Good knowledge of the French and/or German language and culture
