The Process and Data Manager is a key commercial role reporting to the Head of Commercial Development in the Buying and Merchandising Department. This role is responsible for managing Buying and Merchandising and related Marketing processes, projects, efficiency, data and systems and leads the master data team and the support team. This role is the guardian of all commercial data and processes.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The main purpose of the job is to develop, implement, document, monitor, evaluate and improve processes within de Buying & Merchandising department and related marketing processes to ensure a clear and efficient way of working.

Daily work

As Process Manager you support the Head of Commercial Development in developing all processes within Buying & Merchandising and related marketing processes. you implement, monitor and improve processes within Buying & Merchandising and Marketing (e.g. quality, buying, category planning, master data, promotion, pricing, shelf planning).

As Process Manager you identify and analyze commercial processes and systems to be improved. You create mutual understanding and support for these improvements within the departments and recommend business and technical solutions to improve operational effectiveness of the departments. Sets up a continues improvement cycle.

You develop, maintain and document all B&M and related marketing processes and guidelines and monitor the use of processes and systems in order to facilitate Marketing and B&M in using them more effectively. You also develop and coordinate training and development for B&M and Marketing.

Next to the process roles above you manage and structure the product master data, you liaise with IT to develop, monitor and optimize systems and dashboards to support these processes within B&M and you work with Supply Chain Management to optimize the corporation between Buying and SCM to manage stock levels.

You lead, develop and motivate the team lead Buying Support and team lead Master Data Management and their teams and you keep your knowledge of systems and processes up-to-date. You coordinate multiple projects for Buying and Merchandising.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD PROCESS AND DATA MANAGER BUYING & MERCHANDISING AT ACTION

The Process Manager at Action enjoys making proposals for efficient and effective working methods with the least possible complexity and implementing these. He demonstrates a high level of pragmatism is very organised, is able to structure activities and projects and sticks to agreements within deadlines and according to guidelines. He works efficiently and effectively, also when under time pressure. He works with others to achieve common targets and constructively challenges others to optimise performance and capitalise on opportunities.

Necessary hard skills

  • Educated to Master level
  • Min. 5-7 years’ experience within process and/or data roles (preferably commercial) in large retail or consumer goods organizations
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • A strong communicator and presenter
  • Good understanding of IT systems within buying and merchandising processes
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
