The Safety Expert is responsible to develop and implement a Supply Chain HSE policy that is fully in line with the local regulations and guidelines and ensure that all Supply Chain departments act according to this policy all to ensure that Action creates an safe and healthy environment for his employees.
What are the main responsibilities?
In this important role for Action you will be the advisor and implementer of Supply Chain HSE policy and providing rules and guidelines (e.g. Seveso, BRZO safety management system , Arbo – guidelines, etc.). Identifying external developments to ensure that the HSE policy is still in line with legislation and guidelines. You will be the advisor for local management and employees regarding HSE issue’s. As Safety Expert you will analyse (potential) major incidents and optimize procedures based on the lessons learned. In case of incidents with major injuries you will report this to ISZW and coordinate the processes according to the ISZW guidelines. You will advise our Logistic Service Providers (LSP’s) on our HSE procedures and ensure that the HSE policy of LSP’s is in line with the Action HSE policy.
Responsible for a good working BZRO Safety Management System and complete and efficient HSE incident management administration. Execute or initiate safety audits and manage deviations, within own and outsourced DC’s. Manage all external audits and inspections by governmental agencies. Initiate and/or execute mandatory reports like RI&E, Safety study, ATEX etc. Initiate and maintain relationships with all government agencies regarding legislation, permits and certificates (e.g. ISZW, ‘Omgevingsdiensten’).
What makes you a good Safety Expert at Action?
You are an analytic and experienced HSE specialist with relevant experience within a warehousing , logistic or supply chain environment.
- Educational level at Bachelor’s degree (HVK education)
- At least 5 – 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar job, retail or logistics environment is an pré.
- You are an certified safety expert
- Project management skills (Prince 2)
- Good communicative- and advisory skills
- Excellent knowledge of at least English language (verbal and written);
- Willing to travel in Europe
- Demonstrates a high level of pragmatism;
- Works efficiently and effectively, also when under time pressure.
