As Supply Planner you will be part of the Supply Chain Planning department and report to the Unit Planning Manager. The main focus lies in ensuring optimal inventory levels and availability for shop and DC orders. In doing so, you will be in close contact with the Category Demand Planner, Category Buyer, Individual suppliers and DCs/Hubs

What will you do on a daily basis

Inventory Planning

  • Developing category supply plans and deriving capacity requirements
  • Managing the constrained category supply plan
  • Ensuring optimal stock availability for all Action DCs and Hubs by monitoring and reporting daily stock KPI’s and applying efficient stock parameters
  • Making and monitoring stock order based on Hub/DC/Store needs, strategic stock parameters and commercial decisions, taking into account the most cost-efficient manner by optimizing order quantities and minimal usage of inter DC deliveries or external storage requirements
  • Drafting delivery plans for own containers as well as direct delivery from suppliers, taking into account forecasts, marketing initiatives, expected sales patterns and the alternative assortment
  • Drafting and communicating purchase orders and forecasts per supplier, based on input from the buyers and demand planner
  • Monitoring long-term- and container delivery plans, to make timely adjustment based on revenues and/or adjusted forecast.
  • Maintaining the overview of planned promotions and available stock, taking into account future promo requirements.

Operational Management

  • Providing solutions for urgent supply problems through coordination with stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with the logistics department and suppliers in case of delivery deviations or last-minute changes
  • Monitoring products with an expiration date or limited / promotional supply, as well as reporting excess to the coordinator and buyer
  • Flagging logistical inefficiencies from the supplier to the category buyer
  • Dividing the new assortment within the commercial and logistics framework, making sure all needed sku’s are available in the required DC’s/Hubs
  • Participating in regular category balancing meetings to provide input on the inbound logistics status and to review the demand and inventory situation.

Relationship Management

  • Collaborating with suppliers and internal departments to improve the ordering process, and implementing the suggested improvements
  • Maintaining and optimizing the collaboration between Action and suppliers by following a rigorous supplier performance output, as well as logging delivery times, stock replenishment KPI’s
  • Maintaining relations with agents in Asia and the Direct Import department to ensure optimal container arrangements and transport volumes and to initiate possible (de) consolidation needs
  • Act as primary contact point for suppliers to make optimize delivery and solve issues
  • Regular coordinating with buyers regarding ads, seasons, inflow and possible delivery issues
Who are you?

You have experience working in an international retail environment or trade company and you know how to create and implement proposals for efficient and effective working methods, with the least possible complexity. You work efficiently and effectively either with colleagues or independently to achieve common targets, also when under time pressure. You are organized and skilled in structuring activities and projects, while sticking to the agreed deadlines and guidelines.

Furthermore you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5 years of working experience in a similar job
  • Business level knowledge of English and Basic understanding of Dutch
  • Excellent skills in MS office (especially Excel)
